Day 1: Arrive Nagpur - Tadoba National Park, 150 km
Upon arrival at Nagpur airport / railway station meet with our representative & drive to Tadoba National Park. On arrival check in at the wildlife resort. Overnight stay at resort.
Tadoba National Park : Tadoba Tiger Reserve is the pristine and unique eco-system situated in the Chandrapur district of the Maharashtra State of India. The Reserve contains some of the best of forest tracks and endowed with rich biodiversity. It is famous for its natural heritage. Tadoba Tiger reserve was created in 1995. The area of the Reserve is 625.40 sq. km. This includes Tadoba National Park, created in 1955 with an area of 116.55 sq. km. and andhari Wildlife Sanctuary created in 1986 with an area of 508.85 sq. km. The Reserve is constituted with 577.96 sq. km. Reserve Forest, 32.51 sq. km. Protected Forest and 14.93 sq. km. other areas.
Often referred to as "The Jewel of Vidharba", the Tadoba National Park lies in the heart of a reserved forest, it is an infinite treasure trove of innumerable species of trees and plants - and wildlife that includes tigers, panthers, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, bison, barking deer, nil gai, sambar, and cheatal.
Day 2: Tadoba National Park
Morning & afternoon Jungle safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Overnight stay at resort.
Vegetation : Tadoba forest incorporates flora of Sal, Indian Butter Teak, Tree (Mahua), Mango, Black-plum, Bamboo, Bel, Casia, Flame of Forest, Terminenalia Hiwar, Margosa etc. Reserve is manifested with substantial forest intermingled with paddocks and regions materlizing scrub forest. Mammals sighting of Tadoba forest encompasses Asiatic Bison (Indian Gaur), Wild Dog (Dholes), Tiger, Leopard, Striped Hyens, Four-horned Antelope, Jungle Cat, Sambhar and more. Among reptiles, Crocodiles in Tadoba lake are the another major reptile species found in this forest.
Here forest is typical Tropical Dry deciduous type. Teak is the dominant species in this forest. Teak forest cover is 11.48%. Some of the major tree species found within the protected area are Teak, Ain, Arjun, Bamboo, Behada, Bel, Bija, Bhera, Bor, Chichwa, Dhawada, Kusum, Mahua, Mowai, Phetra, Rohan, Salai, Semal, Shisham, Shivan, Surya, Sirus, Tendu. Mixed forest covers 76.16%, Grassland 7.17% and degraded area of 5.19%. Among mixed forest area, Bamboo occupies major share.
Avifauna : Avi-fauna of Tadoba is also amazing comprising about 200 bird species can be encountered during Tadoba Park Safari. Some of the prominent birds seen here are: Jungle fowl, Fishing Eagle, Paradise Fly-catcher, Indian Roller, Honey buzzard, Crested Serpent Eagle, Indian Pitta, Yellow-footed Green Pigeon etc.
Mohrali Gate is famous for wildlife viewing in Tadoba among four of its entrances. The rest of three are Zai, Navegaon & Pangadi.
Day 3: Tadoba National Park - Nagpur, 160 km
Morning jungle safari to the after breakfast drive to Nagpur. Upon arrival transfer to the airport . railway station for onward connection.
