Great Himalayan National Park Tour
Delhi - Kullu - Sangarh - Shakti Village - Campsite - Dhel Thatch - Ghuntarao - Shilt - Rolla - Gushini
Day 01: Delhi - Kullu
In the morning drive to Manali. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 02: Kullu - Sangarh - Shakti Village
In the morning after breakfast drive to Sangarh and from here we will start our first day trek to Shakti, which acclimatizes the trekkers for the trek. We cover a distance of almost 22 Kms going along the Sainj Nala on to Shakti at 2100 meters.
Day 03: Shakti Village - campsite (2800 meters)
In the morning after breakfast we will trek at lower meadow bridge in Humkhani forest. This forest is home to the endangered king of the birds. Overnight in Camp.
Day 05: Campsite - Dhel Thatch (3737 meters).
Today we climb uphill through a thick forest to the magnificent Dhel Thatch. The thatch is a beautiful high and wide meadow. There are great mountain vistas and opportunities for observing wildlife. The trek halts here for a rest day to explore the wildlife and the surroundings. O/n camp
Day 06: Dhel Thatch Rest Day.
Our day hikes would be spent on ascent through dense forest, walnut trees, medicinal herbs, etc.
Day 07 : Dhel Thatch - Ghuntarao (3500 meters)
We cover a distance of almost 15 kms today climbing up to a higher elevation at 4120 meters and then descending to our next campsite at Ghuntarao (3500 meters). O/n Camp
Day 08 : Rest day at Ghuntarao
Explore the surroundings and bird watching near the campsite.
Day 09 : Ghuntatro to Shilt(3100 meters)
Today we travel a moderate up and down to the beautiful campsite at Shilt. A great day for exploring the flora and fauna of the GHNP o/n Camp
Day 10: Shilt - Rolla
This is a small day downhill through a very thick forest full of Monal Pheasant. (A large plump pheasant with a loud, ringing call. Males are mainly iridescent blue, green on the mantle and rufous on the neck, with a white patch on the lower back and an orange tail). It is a prominent bird and the state bird of Himachal and often seen by the tourists and trekkers.). Evening campfire with local dance performed by the staff accompanying you on the trek. O/n Rolla.
Day 11: Rolla - Gushini (1500 meters)
Today a distance of 13 Kms (trekking) and the rest by Jeep brings us back to civilization. Afternoon arrival from the trek to Raju's Lodge one of the best and oldest in the Tirthan valley. Evening would be spent having a trout bonfire. Departure by Volvo Bus to delhi.
