Birds in Raiganj Bird Sanctuary
Rajganj bird sanctuary, second largest bird sanctuary of Asia is home to thousands of migratory birds. The migratory birds arrive from South Asian countries and coastal region from end of May to Ist week of July and depart from mid December to end of January. The nesting time is from July to August & egg laying from August to September.
The migratory spices include night herons, cormorants. egrets, open-bill storks, and indigenous birds as well. Resident birds like kingfishers, kites, flycatchers, owls, woodpeckers, drongoes, bulbul, sparrow, dove can also see in the sanctuary.
